What constrains the product
Evidence before opinion
If we cannot show you the artifact, we do not make the claim. This rule has cost us features and we have kept it anyway.
Determinism over coverage
A smaller set of findings you can trust beats a larger set you have to verify. Unstable observations are suppressed.
Published, not proprietary
Rulesets, weights, and scoring arithmetic are documented. A methodology you cannot inspect is a methodology you cannot defend.
Restraint in the interface
The product shows you the finding and gets out of the way. No dashboards that exist to look busy.
Position
Where Obcend sits
Obcend is not a replacement for your monitoring, your CI checks, or your security programme. Those catch regressions in systems you already know about. Obcend answers a different question: what is actually true about the whole estate right now, stated in a form that survives being challenged.
The output is designed to be handed sideways — to a client, an executive sponsor, a regulator, a procurement team — without a covering explanation of how the tool works or why a number moved. That constraint shapes every decision in the product.
